The South End Children’s Cafe is Moving! – We Could Use Your Help on August 4

The South End Children’s Cafe is Moving!

Dear Friends,

As you know, we have been working towards finding a permanent location for the South End Children’s Cafe. While everything is not yet finalized, we are very close to moving into our new location in the South End. This move will enable us to serve more children and open for additional hours. We are very excited!

We are grateful to Pastor Evelyn and Pastor Fred and the congregation at Reigning Life Family Church for their hospitality over the past two years. We could not have opened the Cafe, served over 14,600 meals or operated the Cafe without their support and kindness. Thank you!

We will keep you posted of the move. In the meantime, we will be at our current location, 33 Rensselaer Street, until the end of July. We have to be creative and flexible during the month of August. If you have signed up to bring lunch, make dinner or volunteer, I will contact you with information or feel free to contact me regarding the plan if you do not hear from me in a timely manner.

Unfortunately, we are not moving directly into our new space. However, we are doing everything we can to make the transition smooth so that we may continue serving the children.

A few things to know regarding the move:

Our new space has tables. We have small wooden tables and larger metal tables available for FREE. If you would like a table or two, please stop by Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday of this week between 5 and 6pm to pick up a table or two. Thank you!

On Saturday, August 5, between 9am and 6pm, we will be doing a big indoor and outdoor clean up and repainting so we can leave the Cafe and kitchen as we found it. If you or anyone you know would be able to volunteer, please let me know. An hour or two would be amazing and very helpful!

I want to thank each one of you who has given so much to the children, families and the Cafe. Without you, there would have been no South End Children’s Cafe. The growth and success of the program, the many milestones achieved and the impact made is due to every person who has walked through the door of the Cafe, donated to the Cafe, wished us well, shared our information or performed an act of kindness. I am in awe of you.

Please contact me if you have questions, suggestions, ideas or needs.

Have a great day!

Tracie Killar
