FUTURE FORWARD INTERNSHIP ACADEMY

The New York State Comptroller works to protect the people’s money while helping government operate more effectively and efficiently. The Comptroller’s responsibilities include managing the State retirement system and pension fund, auditing all State agencies, school districts and local governments, providing independent review of the State and New York City budgets, and overseeing State contracting and spending.

The Office of the State Comptroller’s Future Forward Internship Academy provides a unique opportunity for diverse, talented students to participate in challenging academic courses, including experiential learning guided by subject-matter experts.

Applicants may select one of four career tracks:

  • Auditing
  • Governmental Accounting and Management
  • Human Resources and Administration
  • Project Management

FUTURE FORWARD INTERNSHIP

Future Forward Internships take place in our Albany and New York City offices. The auditing track is only offered in New York City, while all four tracks are available in Albany.

EARN COLLEGE CREDIT / STIPEND

The 13-week intensive summer program requires

a time commitment of 37.5 hours a week. Successful participants will receive up to 13 upper-level college credits towards a baccalaureate degree. Students will receive a stipend.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Applicants must be in the process of completing their sophomore, junior or senior year of college at the time of application. All majors will be considered. Space is limited. Please see submission deadline below.

Applications will be accepted from November 30, 2016 through February 28, 2017.

 Space is limited; therefore, timely submission of the application and required documents is essential. The program runs May 17, 2017 through August 16, 2017.
